At least 16 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes and shelling in Lebanon’s Nabatiyeh district. Lebanon’s state news agency NNA reported that several others were injured and are currently missing.

According to NNA, the attacks, which commenced after midnight on Thursday, represent one of the most intense Israeli operations carried out in the region recently. Multiple residential buildings were targeted in these strikes.

NNA stated that shelling initially targeted various areas, including Nabatiyeh city, Kafr Jouz, Kafr Rumman, and Zebdine. Subsequently, Israeli forces conducted a series of airstrikes in the mountainous areas of Kafr Tibnit and Rihan.

At least eight people were killed in the Nabatiyeh and Hrouf areas. Additionally, four individuals died in an attack on a house located between Al-Sharqiya and Doueir, and three more were reported killed in separate attacks in Kafr Seer.

Meanwhile, one person was killed and another injured in an Israeli drone strike targeting a motorcycle near the Doueir municipal building.

The number of casualties is feared to rise, as several individuals are still missing and rescue operations remain ongoing.
